2021 Putting Championship
on Canada’s Largest Putting Green!

FORMAT

  • 18 hole individual putting contest
  • Daily qualifiers will run Friday to Thursday weekly and the low score (and ties) each day will qualify for the weekly qualifier (Saturday of that week). Players can come any time from 10am – 9pm daily.
  • Every Saturday, the 7 daily qualifiers (and ties) from that week (Friday to Thursday) will putt-off. 1-Low score from the weekly qualifier will earn a spot in our Championship on August 21st.
  • The 11 weekly finalists and the 4 Super Saturday finalists will all come back Saturday, August 21st for the Championship. All 15 finalists will compete for the title and $5,000! Finalists will also get a chance to compete in a long putt competition to win a car!

SUPER SATURDAY’S

Saturday, July 17th and Saturday, August 7th will be our Super Saturdays (3pm to 6pm)! A special event will take place these days where players can pay $25 and skip to the weekly qualifier. The two-lowest scores on each date will move on to the Championship on August 21st.

RULES & REGULATIONS

  • GENERAL
    • Any contest can be re-scheduled at the discretion of Golfuture YYC (for weather or other reasons).
    • Once a player has won a spot in the weekly qualifier, they are no longer eligible to compete in the daily qualifiers that week. If that player does not qualify into the Championship their eligibility would be re-instated the following week.
    • Failure to show up for your designated qualifier or championship time will result in disqualification.
    • The Rules of Golf as approved by Golf Canada and R&A Rules Limited govern play.
    • Play is restricted to Amateurs only. Golf professionals and NCAA players (golf) are not eligible.
    • Golfuture YYC Staff are not eligible for play.
      • COVID-19 protocols apply. Pins must remain in at all times.
      • Social distancing must be maintained.

  • DAILY COMPETITIONS
    • Cost: $10/try. Players can try as many times as they wish. Players must pay and register in Proshop prior to play.
    • No advance practice permitted.
    • No gimmies, no mulligans.
    • Players must compete within the designated tee boxes and pins.
    • 18 hole individual putting contest (total score). The putting course will change daily.
    • Week runs Friday to Thursday (7 days). 10am -9pm.
    • Scores are self-attested. Scorecards must be submitted to the Proshop immediately after your round. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
    • Lowest score and ties each day will qualify for the weekly qualifier (Saturday).
    • If a daily winner cannot make their designated weekly finale, they can submit a request to Golfuture YYC to be moved to an alternate weekly qualifier.
  • WEEKLY QUALIFIER
    • Weekly qualifiers will occur on Saturdays at 2pm (unless otherwise specified). Only the daily winners and ties, from that week (Friday to Thursday) will be eligible to play.
    • No advance practice permitted.
    • No gimmies, no mulligans.
    • Players must compete within the designated tee boxes and pins.
    • 18-hole individual putting competition (total score).
    • Players will be paired up randomly with a minimum of one other competitor and players will attest their partner’s score. Scorecards must have both the players signature and one attested signature on the scorecard before submission. Scorecards must be submitted to Golfuture YYC staff immediately after your round. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
    • The (one) player with the lowest score, will move forward to the Championship on August 21st at 2pm.
    • In the event there is a tie, a sudden death putt off will take place starting on hole #1.
  • SUPER SATURDAY’S
    • Saturday, July 17th and Saturday, August 7th, 2021 from 3:00-6:00pm.
    • Cost: $25/try entry. Players are limited to one try per Super Saturday. Players must pay and register in Proshop prior to play.
    • Players who have previously qualified in a weekly qualifier, are not eligible.
    • No advance practice is permitted.
    • No gimmies or mulligans.
    • Players must compete within the designated tee boxes and pins.
    • 18 hole individual putting contest (total score).
    • Players will be paired up randomly with a minimum of one other competitor and players will attest their partner’s score. If another player is not available, a Golfuture YYC employee will monitor the round. Scorecards must have both the players signature and one attested signature on the scorecard before submission. Scorecards must be submitted to Golfuture YYC staff immediately after your round. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
    • The two players with the lowest scores on Saturday, July 17th and the two lowest scores on Saturday, August 7th, will advance to the Putting Championship on August 21, 2021.
    • In the event there is a tie, a sudden death putt off will take place starting on hole #1.
  • CHAMPIONSHIP
    • Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00pm.
    • Championship players are limited to the 11 weekly and 4 Super Saturday winners.
    • No advanced practice is permitted.
    • No gimmies, no mulligans.
    • Players must compete with the designated tee boxes and pins.
    • 18-hole individual putting competition (total score).
    • Random draw/pairing and order of play will be determined by Golfuture YYC staff and players will attest their partners score. Scorecards must have both the players signature and one attested signature on the scorecard before submission. Scorecards must be submitted to Golfuture YYC staff immediately after your round.
    • The (one) player with the lowest score, will win $5,000 and the 2021 Golfuture YYC Putting Championship. Second place will win $2,000; third place will win $1,000 and the remaining Championship competitors will each win $250. Ties for second and third place will share the prize money.
    • In the event there is a tie for the Championship, a sudden death putt off will take place starting on hole #1.
  • 100 FOOT PUTT
    • To take place immediately after the Putting Championship on Saturday, August 21st, 2021.
    • Only Championship players (15) will be eligible to also compete in the 100 foot hole-in-one competition.
    • Players must compete from the designated tee box and pin.
    • Playing order for the hole-in-one putt off will be determined by random draw.
    • All players waiting to complete their shots are not permitted to watch until they have concluded their try.
    • No advance practice is permitted. No gimmies or mulligans.
    • Players get one shot only.
    • If a hole-in-one is made, the player wins a car from Maclin Ford (value of up to $50,000). If the value of the car chosen is less than $50,000, the difference will be paid out in cash. Cash out option is also available for winner, valued at $40,000. Only one prize will be awarded regardless of the number of hole-in-ones.
    • In the event that more than one hole-in-one is made, the players who made a hole-in-one will have a putt-off (same length and hole) and the closest player to the pin shall be deemed the winner.
